Project Location: Bethlehem, New York
Type of Project: Master Planning & Urban Design, +/-76.8 acres sitting on the Hudson River with marina and 17 mixed-use buildings.
This 78 acre brown field site in Albany, New York is situated along the picturesque Hudson River. The river is a deep water, ocean access shipping lane with both commerce and pleasure boating. This project was designed with the New Urban principles of walk-ability and community gatherings. This will be the destination location for the capital region. Designed are 2.4 million s.f. of mixed use, with the focal point being the circular man made harbor which has a 250 boat-slip marina with surrounding promenade shops, restaurants, and condominiums. This brown field site has many environmental sensitivities and the solution was to cap the site with over 23 acres of underground parking to serve all buildings of the site. The street-scape and park systems are green roof designs over the parking deck, which provides a lush and environmentally friendly area for all to enjoy. Also 800 s.f. of office space, 2 luxury hotels, cultural center for the arts and over 800 residences.
